About

Hey there, my name is Kayden Preston. I am an environmental science major at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I am currently Junior and taking Ecology Lab. I am from Nashville Tennessee. I transferred from Tennessee State University. I enjoy the outdoors, specifically, hiking and fishing here in the Chattanooga area as well as northern Georgia. I also enjoy spending my time playing basketball and running. When i’m not outdoors or playing basketball I work in northern Georgia at Blowing Springs Kennel. Blowing Springs Kennel is a dog training and boarding facility. At Blowing Springs we offer hunt training for dogs as well as regular obedience training. We also breed labs, specifically, chocolate labs at Blowing Springs Kennel.

Once i complete my environmental science degree, i am aspiring to work for the United States Fish and Wildlife service. I would like to work as a conservationist, biologist, or a park ranger for U.S. Fish and Wildlife service. I would like to work with endangered species, specifically, the red wolf and study their behavior and work on rebuilding their population. Another aspiration of mine would be to work for the K-9 unit of  Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. I would help find lost hunters of find hunters who are hiding while they are poaching animals. Another aspect of the job would be to find shell casings and guns that have been used in illegal hunting activity. My love of animals as well as my love for the outdoors has led me to think that either of these jobs would be a perfect fit for me. My dream job however would be to go to Africa and work in Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and study one of the only remaining populations of mountain gorillas in the world. I would also like to work on rebuilding the population of this extremely endangered species.

Ecology is important because it deals with organisms and their interaction with one another as well as their surrounding environment. Ecology a major part of all things of life and is essential to life. I am studying ecology because i feel that will be important for me to understand the ecology of the environments that i am working in and also for studying the animals i would like to study. I want people to get a basic understanding from ecology from reading my blog. I would also like for people to learn along with me from reading my blow. I would like to help people better understand ecology through my blog because I am by no means a ecology wizard. Hopefully I can help people better understand ecology while also increasing my understanding of ecology as well. My blog will be different from other science blogs in that I will be learning along with my blog readers. Every blog entry I will be learning something new and hopefully I can help my blog readers learn as well. My science blog will be for everyone to read. I will make it understandable for people of all intellects.
